Engineering Manager, Product Platform
Harborlight Software
411 1st Avenue S
Seattle, WA 98104
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am applying for the Software Engineering Intern role on Harborlight's product platform team. Your posts on incremental rollouts and internal developer tooling read like a team that treats reliability and ergonomics as part of the product, which is the environment I want this summer.
I study computer science with coursework in data structures, web systems, and testing, and I have shipped two class projects with React, TypeScript, and automated tests.
For a group project I implemented a feature-flagged checkout experiment service with unit and integration tests that caught a race condition before demo day. I also contributed documentation that cut onboarding time for new teammates from three days to one.
I am comfortable asking for code review early, reading unfamiliar services, and pairing when I am stuck.
I write readable code, leave breadcrumbs in PR descriptions, and treat user-visible bugs as learning opportunities—not blame games.
I want to contribute small, safe changes while absorbing your team's standards for observability and release hygiene.
I trimmed filler using the examples hub at coverletter-examples.com; many job seekers refer to the site as cover letter examples.
My resume links to GitHub and a short demo video. Please contact me at 206-555-0181 or alex.kim@email.com. Thank you for your consideration; I would welcome the chance to intern with Harborlight.
Sincerely,
Alex Kim
